Frequently Asked Questions
A mini PC is essentially what the name suggests, a small PC. In most cases they are using a mobile AMD or Intel processor with integrated graphics to reduce the physical size of the PC. Though because it is mobile it does not mean it scrimps on performance, with many rivalling desktop processors now.

Choosing a Mini PC, Mini Computer
There are many ways that a mini PC is more beneficial to use instead of a traditional desktop PC. We will be highlighting just some of the benefits and also discussing different ways that you can use these mini computers.
The first and most obvious advantage is that a mini PC is far smaller than your average PC. A PC case can be anywhere from 14 to 27 inches in height and 6 to 10 inches in width. Compared to a mini computer, they are generally around 2 inches in height and 5 inches in width and length. This alone is a massive saving in space on your home or office desk, with less clutter and more space to work on. With many mini PC’s you can also attach it to the back of your TV or monitor VESA mount, or on the wall. They are very light, averaging around 700 grams, far less than an average laptop, so it will not weigh down anything.
Another advantage is the portability. With the mini computer being far smaller than a desktop and even a laptop, it is perfect for if you are travelling between offices for meetings or presentations, or even for leisure such as when on holiday. All you need is a display or projector to connect to and you are up and running. It can easily be stowed in a travel bag.
The third advantage is energy efficiency. We are all aware of the rising costs of electricity as well as the impact on the environment it is causing. In our research and our own tests we saw other PC’s using 600W power supplies on average. A mini PC can use as little at 30W but generally in the 90W area. This is an enormous reduction in energy consumption, which means lower energy bills as well as helping the environment.
We mentioned that a mini PC has great portability with work tasks such as presentations, but what else can they do? They can do just about everything a standard office work PC can do. They come with the latest version of Windows 11, have RAM that can be upgraded, and have fast m.2 slots for solid state storage. Depending on the model there may also be space inside for a 2.5” hard drive or SSD. You will generally find they support two or three monitor displays at 4K which is amazing!
Our best mini PC buying guide highlights our hand chosen models for a range of tasks. Whether you are working from home or in the office, writing coursework in university halls or want a top notch gaming mini PC. There is a mini computer geared towards every requirement from AMD or Intel processors, low energy consumption to high performance, the latest WiFi 6, fast dual ethernet ports and fingerprint sensors for extra security. There are even Thunderbolt 3 compatible devices for connecting external graphics cards (eGPU) to for ultra fast gaming.
A great testament to mini PC’s being the perfect choice is that at DroiX, over 95% of their staff’s PCs are using them for their daily tasks. They are used for everything from answering customers emails, interacting with customers on the phone, updating the website with the latest products and much more! With the more high performance mini computers such as the Beelink GTR5, they are used to edit and render product review videos such as the one shown above. They really can do everything that a larger PC can do!
