Crafted for both gamers and professionals, this mini laptop blurs the boundaries between work and play, offering powerhouse performance in a sleek, portable package. Built for Adaptability: Accurate Input, Pro-Grade Aesthetics, and Smart Thermal Regulation

An image of the GPD Win Max 2 (2024) gaming laptop, focusing on its Hall sensor sticks. The close-up view showcases the precise and durable analog sticks, which use magnetic Hall sensors for improved accuracy and longevity compared to traditional potentiometer-based sticks.

Stick Drift is History: Eradicating Physical Degradation using Magnetic Induction Hall Joysticks.

The traditional potentiometer stick that relies on the resistance brush to generate the voltage signal is prone to “drift” issues caused by wear and tear in long-term use. With WIN Max 2 2024, we’ve introduced for the first time Hall Sensor sticks with built-in inductance coils. The working principle of magnetic induction (different magnetic fluxes are generated when the stick rotates to different positions, which in turn generates different voltage signals) determines that Hall Sensor sticks have no wear and tear, and therefore won’t have the issue of stick drift!

Professional Appearance: Concealing Game Controls via Integrated Magnetic Faceplates

The game controller built into the handheld gaming PC can make it unsuitable for the workplace! To solve this problem, we added two stick covers for WIN Max 2 2024. The magnetic design ensures that the two covers won’t fall off when using the device. When playing games, you can also stow the covers in the rear compartment, which helps prevent accidental loss!

The detailed view shows the internal layout, including the heat pipes, dual fans, and strategically placed vents designed to efficiently dissipate heat and maintain optimal performance during intensive gaming sessions.

Desktop-Level Cooling: Delivering Silent Operation via Massive Turbofans and Smart Speed Regulation

GPD Win Max 2 2024 comes with an improved PC-grade cooling system with a large turbofan + dual heat pipes, which boasts high volume side air blow and highly intelligent speed control. When the internal temperature is lower than 40°C, the fan speed will not exceed 20% of its maximum capacity. When the internal temperature reaches higher than 40°C, the fan speed goes up in 2% PWM increments until reaching its maximum threshold (100%).

Great Item

I wasn't totally sure how a refurb would pan out but I am glad I went for it. It passed every test, memory 100%, cooling, the case, keyboard, screen are flawless. The unobtanium ssd is, as far as I can tell, literally new. I expected this to be a weak point but color me surprised to find a WD installed. As far as the pc itself its awesome I had no issue w kubuntu or w11. The gamepad function outpaces a steam deck easily and is actually useful. Droix shipped it insanely quick ~3 days to usa, 10% tariff. All in all I will buy GPD again. 100% great company and great product. I never leave reviews but I was really blown away. If you're on the fence seriously get it.

GPD WIN MAX 2024

Let me just say WOW what a beautiful machine. So small yet large at functionality, form and factor. A workhorse powerhouse of a laptop. If your working on the go at home or i the office you will have all you need in this small yet big machine. I couldnt have aasked for a better laptop for all my needs. The max does it all. The only thing that confused me a bit was the game control layout, being used to the win mini . The reversed right hand controls were odd at first and not as instinctive to the mini where the controls are layed out. I am getting used to it though. I do prefer to play AAA games on my win mini 2024 though as its now my gaming go to. However , once im used to win max i will engoy that as well. The 10.1 inch screen is great and i dont notice the change from 120hz to 60hz in the games i play. The OLED will be an impressive upgrad in 2026 if GPD goes into OLED on max. I have the 2024 version and look forward to the OLED on these devices. I will say this though you wont need OLED on these devices as they are beautifully crips screens. I know the 2025 hasalot of upgrades from the previous year and would loved to have the 2025. I look forward to the future of GPD and its future products lineup. Thank to the Designers, Engineers, Sales and Customer service. Best Devices Thank You

Desktop Power, Laptop Form

As a developer and gamer, this device is amazing. The performance is the best for its size, and the eGPU hookup with OcuLink is awesome for home. The 10.1" screen looks great and works fast. Only problem is it gets pretty hot after a while. Still, it's taken over my gaming laptop and work computer.

A Speccial Product Done Well

As a tech nerd, the GPD WIN MAX 2 2024 blows my mind. 64GB RAM and 4TB SSD are way too much, but in a good way. It plays games super well, and the OcuLink thingy for eGPU is really cool. My only issues are the loud fan when it’s working hard and the weight, which makes it not as easy to carry around as other stuff. But if you want a portable computer that can run big games, it's hard to find better.

Perfection

Perfect for a touring/traveling musician. Its no bigger than an iPad, and if you can bring an iPad anywhere, you can bring this. No need to bring a controller as its built in. The screens beautiful doesnt get too hot. Absolutely perfect keyboard size and the keys presses feel satisfying. Theres almost. No compromises with this device other than the 60hz refresh rate. This is the end all be all for travelers who need work and gaming done, or handheld gamers that want a all in on experience.

Incredible powerhouse

This is perfect for anyone in the civil service industry. I am in the military and have to say from size it fits in my uniform pocket and snug into my bookbag. It's robust which also means durable which is great when deployed or utilized during training. It can handle MAX spec even for the latest high rendering games with little to no latency, for example Call of duty and Elden Ring. It has a solid encryption base which allows me to log into any government website. All of this while also having an amazing customer service team makes me want to come back for more, a couple of my friends just made some orders too because of what i showed them. I cant wait to see what this company does next!

Like a Desktop, But a Laptopp

The GPD WIN MAX 2 2024 is an engineering wonder. It’s crazy how much power it packs into a small device, and the versatility is awesome for both work and gaming. But it’s not perfect—the battery life could be better for something portable, and the price is pretty high for most people. It’s also a bit heavy for long gaming sessions. Still, if you need a mix of power and portability, it’s a great option

Awesome little device with flaws

Thus device is awesome. Handles most games impressively. My biggest complaint is the analog sticks. For a $1300 handheld gaming console id expect sticks comparable to a ROG Ally, Steam deck, or Xbox controller, these feel like PSP or switch sticks. They have nearly 40% travel or throw than normal sticks, therefore precise movements are near impossible, in addition, these do not track circularly. They are square. And they aren't even equally square corners. There are alot of threads discussing this and it is a known issue by GPD. I wish I could send it in to be serviced and upgraded. My second largest gripe is the screen. You cannot call this a gaming console for $1300 at 60hz refresh rate. I hope they offer an upgrade in the future as I will be the replacement screen if its a higher refresh rate. Finally, this device with its flaws in 2024 is not worth over $1,000.

Powerhouse of Productivity and Play

I originally came to GPD after using the Steam Deck for about a year. The Steam Deck is a great device, but it always felt cumbersome to use it for anything other than gaming. The GPD Win Max 2 fills this niche well: it has a small but very usable keyboard that, unlike other devices in its form factor, doesn't mess too much with the positioning of keys important to programmers like braces and semicolons. It runs Linux very well. The TPU can be lowered to the point where the battery life is obsene, which is great for long remote coding sessions. I've purchased the Win Max 2 2022 (Ryzen 6800u 32gb) and the Win Max 2 2024 (Ryzen 8840u, 64gb) and they are both excellent machines. I passed my Steam Deck to my partner when I got the GPD WM2 2022, but the Steam Deck stopped working so I replaced my WM2 with the newest model and passed the 2022 one to her. She loves it, and now we're tiny cyberdeck buddies. Thanks GPD!

Impressive but Imperfect

The hidden gaming controls bring great versatility. While it's a bit heavier than some, it’s still portable, and the fan noise is a minor issue. Though on the pricey side, it's definitely worth it for such a powerful all-in-one device.

Great for Both Work and Fun

I love the versatility, but it's a bit bulky for truly portable gaming. The cooling system works well, but it can get noisy. The price is steep, but justified given the specs. I'd love to see a slimmer version in the future, even if it means slightly reduced performance.

Powerhouse in Your Hands

I'm really wowed by the 10.1" touchscreen and the cool hidden game buttons. But, the battery doesn't last that long, and it's kinda heavy if you hold it too long. It's great for games and getting stuff done while you're out, but the price is kinda high for some people

Almost Replaced My Gaming PC

It plays most games really well, and the size is perfect for my commute. The build is solid, and I like how you can hide the controls. But the battery isn't great for gaming, and it’s pricey. Still, if you need a strong, portable device, it's worth a look.

Unique Product, Executed Nicely

This thing is great for work and games. The keyboard’s comfy, and the hidden game buttons are cool. It runs everything from Office to big games no problem. The 10.1" screen is just right for carrying around. Only downside: the battery dies fast when gaming hard.

Tailored Product Done Well

The build is super solid, and the keyboard's shockingly good for how small it is. It’s not for everyone, though — it's kinda big and expensive, so more of a fancy tool than something for everyone. The battery could last longer, but hey, you get a lot of power for it

Honest review

First things first, i love the GPD WINAX 2. I know this company since the first GPD handheld which was an android based emulation device, loved it! Once i received the win max 2 i had a little bit of trouble with the stability of the system, experiencing random crashes when i let the device idle but now when i was gaming, weird i know. Their support team was more than helpful and patient in offering real solutions such as changing certain settings in the BIOS and so. After some tweaking by both, their team and yours truly i was able to get stability in the device, and honestly i can't be more happy with it. The Win Max 2 is a little beast, handling heavy games such as Elden Ring without breaking a sweat, my ROG Zephyrus and Lenovo Legion make much more noise and get hotter than this baby. If you decide to get it, you may need to do some firmware and software tuning but if you are patient and willing, you will end up with a great device, also don't be afraid of reaching out to their support team, they are very helpful!

Also, I paid 25% taxes for this which makes this product not reasonable to buy. What should I do now? Best regards, Ahmad

Jack of All Trades

This device tries to do it all, and it mostly pulls it off. Performance is great for both work and games. The screen is a good size, and the keyboard feels nice. But it's a bit too bulky for casual gaming on the go. It's pricey, but worth it if you're replacing a few devices. Battery life could be better, though, especially for its size.
