BUYER BEWARE: RAM speeds not always as advertised!

I pre-ordered the 2024 iteration this spring, received my unit in June, and as of this writing have been using the device for a couple months now. My biggest complaint is damning on several levels—RAM speeds are advertised here and on GPD’s site as 7500 MT/s, but as anecdotally reported across several online forums and confirmed by DroiX support, some (perhaps many?) units can only achieve stability at 6400 MT/s speeds. I have been assured that a solution is in the works from the manufacturer, but given this issue reportedly exists across models (2023 models also seem to be limited as well, though those models were not advertised at the higher speed to my knowledge), I’m not confident that it will ever be resolved. There are no official reports that I can find to reflect the prevalence of this problem, so while your mileage may vary, it is important for all consumers to be informed of the potential lottery they play before they pay! Disappointed that both manufacturer and reseller alike do not amend advertising and spec sheets to reflect the discrepancy (in spite of DroiX support claiming changes would be made to the page). Though the device is impressive and performant as-is, greater care should be exercised on behalf of the consumer when advertising specs and setting performance expectations, especially when the issue is acknowledged by the seller and can be amended on-site accordingly to correct for the miscommunication, hence my 2-star review. Expectations set should never be left unmet, doesn’t exactly instill confidence in seller or manufacturer.

Will you be getting any 64GB versions of the 2024 GPD Win Max 2 back in stock? I noticed it wasn’t even listed as a “sold out” option in the configuration selector so I wondered if that variation is no longer even an option going forward.

Hey, Unfortunately, the manufacturer has discontinued production of the 64GB RAM variant of this model. As a result, we are unable to restock that configuration.

At this time, the 32GB RAM variant is the only available option. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and hope it still meets your requirements.

If you have any additional questions or need assistance in choosing the right configuration, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
