Great bit of kit

Can't say enough about this little handheld, It really is an amazing piece of kit. Although I've done some of my own tweaking to make this run the way I prefer, this device runs excellent out of th box and has a massive library of games to chose from. Screen is bright with a good resolution and the battery lasts a surprisingly long time. Adding my own games was also very simple with plenty of free space to play with.
DroiX delivery was fast and emails were responded to very quickly. Highly recommended.

My teenager loves it.

“It’s pretty good I guess” that is the best review you’re going to get from this guy. But seriously he loves it. I love it too

RG351P

Overall very enjoyable. Lightweight. Design not the most comfortable, would prefer more support for fingers. Struggles to run PSP games, not sure why they included it. DC games run okay. PS1 games run perfectly. Battery good for what I want i.e pick up and play for 30 mins. Literally hundreds of games preloaded.

Better than expected

I've been doing a lot of research in to the RG351P. So decided to go for it. And decided that Droix was the place to buy it. Well I got that right. Brilliant service answered a few questions I asked and delivery was really quick with good tracking. The machine it's self is better than I expected even after reading the reviews that said it was a good Machine. Enjoying playing it and takes me back to my youth! Thanks again Droix.

Wow what a console

I have owned every gaming device since my Amstrad CPC464 up to my current gaming pc and PS4. But this console is probably my favourite. So easy to use. Amazingly well built. If I had to give any constructive feedback. I would say the memory card is cheap and a risk of failure. Please upgrade to a good brand. Secondly the aspect ratio of the screen is not ideal. However the quality is beautiful and roms / emulators can be adjusted to correct the aspect ratio of the game you are playing. That said GB Advance looks stunning as the screen matches the original size. I highly recommend this device and am tempted to buy some others as the build quality is beautiful. Really happy

rg351p

the rg351p is a nice rk3326 device so far one of the best build I own, and I own them all.
buildquality is okay but not perfect.
there is some lightbleed on the screens left side.
on my unit the l2 button didnt work, there is a little gummy nip that was inside the unit easy to fix with a pincette to bring it back in place.
so why just 3 stars out of 5?
two reasons.
the Screen just fellt appart wasnt correctly glued
thats nothing droix could know or fix before sending out. so its anbernics fault not yours.
second thing is lack of well made OS for it.
which it came with freezes all the time.
the newer EmuElec has the same problem.
its originaly for oga be and author dont want to port it. so everyone is looking for the hacked versions of EE.
all other OGA BE clone software did also not work. so currently I cant even play SNES with it without freezing or suddenly shutdowns.
the screen itself well I glued it back together and then onto the unit.

Rg51p

So I've had my rg351p for a week or so now and I'm impressed with it out of the box its very well built and has a ton of games ready to play there are plenty of YouTube guides out there that make it easy to flash a new operating system which can eek out a little better performance for n64, dreamcast and psp...now if they can get it running android so you can use some stand alone emulators as opposed to retroarch for n64 dc and psp you would get even more performance...hoping you guys can get tge retroid pocket 2 stocked to add to my growing handheld collection.

Great little device

The RG351P is a great little emulation device. It's nicely built and the analog sticks feel great as does the joypad. Make sure you backup the memory card supplied as it's a cheap generic one that is prone to fail & replace the stock firmware with either

Great

Yep, this is a lovely little handheld but I feel there should be a caveat to the five stars; only if you enjoy tinkering. Out of the box this is a solid four stars, it's easy enough to just pop the ROMs you want on there and have a great time but you're only going to get the best out of it if you are happy to spend a good few hours tinkering.

Tinkering is going to involve things like installing a new operating system and configuring the emulators individually. This is not super easy, but it's fairly straightforward and there are a lot of good guides available (look for Retro Game Corps, they have excellent guides). To me, this tinkering was actually quite fun and satisfying so adds to the joy of the device. You get to personalise it and there's some choice as to how you set it up, right down to which operating system to use. If that sort of technical work is not for you, then it's going to be a chore which you can either suffer through (think at least two or three hours of working through step by step guides) for an excellent result or just stick with what you get out of the box which is still pretty good. If you enjoy it like I did then it's just extra fun.

I'm sure others will note that the N64, Dreamcast and PSP emulation is hit and miss, so don't expect to be able to play all of your favourites. I've been happily playing Shenmue on this little handheld, though, which is pretty amazing.

Overall, if you know what you're getting into then this is going to bring much joy. If a bit of work setting it up is the price for the flexibility it offers I'd say it's well worth it.
