| Best for | Our pick | Why |
|---|---|---|
| PS2 & GameCube emulation | Retroid Pocket 6 | The most powerful chip in the range (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2) for demanding sixth-generation systems — results vary by title. |
| Best all-rounder / value | Retroid Pocket 5 | Flagship-class Snapdragon 865 and a great screen at a low price — the default recommendation for most buyers. |
| Clamshell / screen protection | Retroid Pocket Flip 2 | Folds shut to protect the display, ideal for travel and bags. |
| PSP & classic consoles | Retroid Pocket 5 | Comfortably suited to PSP, PS1, DS and earlier systems for on-the-go retro play. |
For most people the Pocket 5 is the best all-rounder. Choose the Pocket 6 if you want the most performance for heavier systems, or the Pocket Flip 2 if you prefer a clamshell that protects the screen.
The Pocket 6’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is the range’s most capable chip for sixth-generation systems like PS2 and GameCube. Emulation performance always depends on the individual game and your chosen settings, so treat it as system-class capability rather than a guarantee for every title.
The Pocket 5 is the value pick and handles PSP, PS1 and DS-era libraries well. The Pocket 6 adds performance headroom for more demanding systems, at a higher price.
