Zippy device, but not perfect

I opted for the faster i7 variant with 512gb storage.

What I like:
Good response to questions from the team at Droidbox.
Device was shipped quickly and securely
Looks nice. Silver metal suits my lounge.
Perfect size for hiding away.
Device is quick, runs productivity software without any issues. Can play 10 year old games at good resolutions.
Works and acts like a full fledged computer running Windows 10

What loses a star (I'd give 3.5 if it was an option):
Fan noise. Device cooling and fan speed are not BIOS or software options. Though, I was able to cut the fan kick-in by about 2/3 by playing with the Windows power management settings. I'll play around with some sound dampening material underneath the device. But was really hoping for a quieter device for the lounge. Suppose this is a trade off as I opted for something more powerful than a Celeron. Note, that it's NO noisier than a desktop PC. So if you're used to a full size PC, or laptop, or games console making a fan noise in your lounge, you'll probably not care.

Unique motherboard and processor set up: Makes it difficult to download compatible software. The motherboard make and model are DEFAULT STRING. And the processor, while an Intel chip, is flagged by CPU-Z as an engineering sample (ES). A Google for this suggests that these are chips meant to be used for development, rather than production. Again, a trade off for having a unique mini computer for a good price. But if you're used to being able to find BIOS and driver updates, you'll be out of luck.

Resuming from sleep: Occasionally the display doesn't come back on after waking the device from sleep. Hardly specific to this device, but it's irritating as it requires moving to the device, holding power-off for several seconds and then powering back on.

Would I buy again?
From Droidbox, definitely. Good selection of cool gadgets across a variety of platforms and they seem keen to make sure customers are happy.
Would I buy this particular gizmo again? I think I'd be looking for a more known make and model next time with a back catalogue of supporting software.

If you have any questions, come find me on the forums. I'll be happy to answer.
